Travel
When we can travel again, I will be organizing small group trips to various destinations with a focus on improving your travel photography. The groups will be limited in size to no more than eight (8) people, which will allow us to get an in-depth look at each destination's culture, people, customs and practices while minimizing our own presence. This will enable us to maintain an unobtrusive profile and fit in better with our surroundings, which in turn makes for better, more impactful images.
My aim with these trips will be to give you an understanding of how your camera and lighting work in a way that allows you to capture more compelling images when you travel. In doing so, you will begin to view your surroundings in a more contemplative way, as you learn to really examine the details of objects and emotions in people that other travelers miss when they merely approach an interesting scene, snap a shot and walk away. I will also encourage you to take photos of your fellow travelers in order to capture them enjoying their trip in a more candid and genuine way, rather than with the manufactured feel (and photographically uninteresting composition) that selfies give off.
